Our Fund Raising campaign is starting to reach out and to bring in some money, but we still have a long way to go to reach our goal of $8000. We still need you to pass this on to your friends and to make a donation. Any amount will be a help. A small monthly donation would be great.  A Big Donation would be fabulous!

And in the meantime our choreographer ShaLeigh will be premiering part of her new work in Charlotte!!!!  Loose Leaves Showcase will present ShaLeigh Dance Works among other local Charlotte Dance Companies Saturday, October 30th at Duke Energy Theater at 345 N College St, Charlotte, NC

Here is the press release.

Led by veteran Durham choreographer ShaLeigh Comerford, ShaLeigh Dance Works premieres an excerpt of new dance-theater work, I Promise. Influenced by the presidential election and subsequent events, Comerford and her company draw on the imagery of rioting and rebellion to question how we define our tribe, what connects us, and what separates us. For Comerford’s multicultural cast, these months have been fraught, and that tension emerges in visceral modern dance. “We couldn’t leave it out of the studio,” Comerford says. At the same time, “It’s a hopeful piece,” she adds, “To rebel, you need something worth fighting for.”
